1936 Angelus-Campfire Company Marshmallow Entrees

Hello fellow Nostalgic Nellies! I hope all of you had a wonderful Holiday! Sorry I have been MIA for a long time now but life has been wonderfully chaotic the past few months. We have moved out of an apartment into our forever home and boy was it a wild ride! So proud everyone involved for keeping their wits about them. Buying a home has been one of the most stressful yet rewarding things I’ve done in my 47 years. I hope I never have to do it again! It’s over now and all is well in the garden! I’m so excited to be settled in and I’m looking forward to getting back on track sharing my fabulous cook booklets and cookbooks with all of you!

You all know my fascination with vintage marshmallow recipe booklets! The Fluff brand and the Angelus-Campfire Company booklets being my favorites. I have shared all of them with you thus far. However, I found one right before Christmas and another right after! How lucky! I thought I’d share my newest with you while I await the others arrival.

Introducing the 1936 Angelus-Campfire Company’s Marshmallow Entrees featuring that sweet, round faced Marshmallow Man! He’s so cute! Let’s have a look…

Oh, “That Festive Touch” those marshmallows add to your entrees (hahaha!). Paprika sprinkled marshmallows atop a good, hot tomato soup? Interesting… A lot of these recipes are a bit questionable but who am I to judge without ever trying them? Would you try them? Would you dare to try the “Prune Meatloaf” along with the “Spiced Prune Garnish” that features marshmallow stuffed prunes sitting pretty in lettuce leaves surrounding the meatloaf? How delightful, right? Well, if you think so, check out these other recipes in the pamphlet…

And there you have it! Number three in my collection of Angelus-Campfire Company’s “Marshmallow Man” cooking pamphlets. Just beautiful, I think. The 1930’s color scheme, the illustrations, lovely.

What do you look for in vintage cookbooks and recipe booklets? I’d love to hear about it. Tell me in the comments! Until my number 4 arrives, TOODLES!
